These policy types differ from life insurance and life insurance without a medical. Non-medically underwritten applications do not base their offer on your health disclosures, and most do not ask any medical related questions. Cover can be an Over 50’s policy, a Multi-protect policy or a life insurance policy that will simply exclude cover for an illness you may have or have had - for example cancer. These are great options for those who may not be eligible for Life Insurance. A multi-protect policy is also very popular for active families or families with young children to run alongside their medically-underwritten life insurance policy.
An Over 50’s policy is a great option for those who are age 50 or over, are looking to leave a lump sum behind for family or to contribute towards their funeral costs and are not eligible for Life Insurance as a result of their health and/or lifestyle.
As you get older, it can be more difficult to secure financial protection in the form of standard life insurance, this can be as a result of your health. Over 50’s is a really great option in this case.
However, if you are age 50 or over, you may still be eligible for standard life insurance. One of our protection advisors will be able to discuss your options with you. You can also read about the difference between Over 50’s and Standard Life Insurance here.
A Multi-protect policy is a fantastic alternative to standard life insurance. This option is great not only for those who may not be accepted for underwritten or standard life insurance and are looking for an alternative to life insurance without medicals, but it is also a great policy for active lifestyles and those who have young children. Customers often look to set up a Multi-Protect policy to run alongside their standard life insurance.
Multi-Protect policies cover a plethora of areas such as; Broken bones, hospitalisation, funeral contributions, accidental death and total permanent disability. You also have options to add childrens cover, active lifestyle cover and healthcare cover to your policy.
As this type of policy does not take into account your health, prices are already set, you can simply choose a monthly premium that is affordable to you and your level of cover will match.
