Provider benefits roundup

Did you know that most of the UK’s leading life insurance providers now offer *free additional benefits included with your life insurance policy? And with the current cost of living crisis, who would say no to a helping hand?

So as well as providing peace of mind, life insurance providers are levelling up by offering free services and support systems so they can be there for you all year round, not just when you need it most.

Scottish Widows

Whilst you have a policy with Scottish Widows, you are automatically entitled to use both their Clinic in a Pocket and Redarc services.

Whilst these services both offer benefits, the types of benefits they offer do differ. Firstly, their Redarc services provide access to experienced personal nurses who can offer support for the following situations:

  • Long term physical and mental illness
  • Trauma
  • Bereavement
  • Disability

The Clinic in a Pocket services are slightly different and offer remote GP and prescription services. If you’re a Scottish Widows policyholder, then not only you but your partner and children can access remote consultations with a 24/7 UK doctor - how incredible!

AIG

AIG’s Smart Health service is one of the most comprehensive provider services out there and they provide an extensive range of services. There exclusive range of support services looks a bit like this:

  • 24/7 access to GP consultations - online or by phone
  • Fitness plans and advice
  • Mental health support and counselling
  • Health checks
  • Second opinions
  • Nutrition plans and advice

Their Smart Health services are available to policyholders 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and at no additional cost. Plus, they even extend to your partner and any children up to the age of 21.

Royal London

Royal London have recently improved the benefits they offer with their cover. From the start of 2022, customers who arrange their cover with Royal London have the option to obtain a personalised health report aimed at promoting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

You will also have full access to Royal London's wellbeing services. One of these services is Thrive which is an NHS-approved mental wellbeing app that provides personalised recommendations to help prevent, detect, and self-manage mental health conditions, such as stress and anxiety. Thrive also has a range of techniques that can help improve overall mental wellbeing.

Legal and General

Similar to Scottish Widows, Legal and General’s free benefits also include a partnership with RedArc. This means that Legal and General can also provide all of the benefits that come under the Redarc umbrella and these benefits are included within all protection policies as standard!

Using Legal and General’s Wellbeing Support will not impact your main policy and if you have a pre-existing medical condition, you can still use the Wellbeing Support. They also can provide practical guidance on navigating the NHS, social care, charities, support groups and later life planning.

Additionally, included as standard with Legal and General income protection policies, their clients will be given access to their in-house team of healthcare professionals. This supports a quicker return to work, and to good mental and physical health.
