Life insurance uncovered - what does your policy really offer?

Most insurance policies have a few perks hidden up their sleeves.

But you might be surprised to find out just how much the hidden perks in your policy can help you and your loved ones.*

Global treatment

Aviva self-describes Global Treatment as "Giving people the power of choice at their most powerless."

Global Treatment provides you access to international facilities, doctors, and treatment worldwide. This extraordinary benefit allows you to pursue recommended treatments without worrying about arranging and paying for treatment, travel, and accommodation.

Aviva offers Global Treatment as an optional extra when you choose any of the following policies: Life Insurance+, Critical Illness+, or Income Protection+.

How does Global Treatment work?

Global treatment is an end-to-end service, meaning they will help you through the process from one end to another.

The procedure eliminates the hassle of organisation and administration throughout the entire consultation and treatment process, enabling your clients to focus solely on their recovery.

  • After a diagnosis, Aviva's reputable partner, Further, assigns a dedicated nurse case manager and a customer care team.

  • The care team identifies the appropriate treatment centres for your case, where physicians will consult and offer various treatment options.

  • You can then review these options and select the treatment and location which best suits your preferences.

  • The care team pays for and handles the hospital admission, including arranging travel and putting the person who needs treatment and a companion in a 3-4-star hotel accommodation. Your companion will get a £100 daily cash allowance to help with daily expenses like food and travel.

  • Upon returning to the UK, the plan covers ongoing medication costs up to £50,000, should they not be covered by the NHS.

More about this incredible benefit

If you, the policyholder, choose to add this to your policy for an additional cost, you and your eligible children (up to age 18 or 21 if in full-time education) will be covered for overseas treatment for the following illnesses;

  • Cancer treatment
  • Coronary artery bypass surgery
  • Heart valve replacement or repair
  • Neurosurgery
  • Live-donor organ transplants
  • Bone marrow transplants
