A bit about our trust service

The purpose of our trust team is to assist you with getting your trust forms completed efficiently and easily.

A while back, we realised that so many of our customers had questions about their trust forms and we saw a gap that needed to be filled within the company, and so our trust team was created to ensure our customers had a direct point of contact they could refer to with their questions.

Our friendly team of trust specialists are on hand to answer any questions regarding your forms or your policy, no matter what it is. There is no such thing as a silly question and our trust team is there to support you as you make your way through the form.

What does it mean to put your life insurance into trust?

Putting your life insurance policy into trust has so many advantages and it is important that you are clued up on the forms and what they mean.

Typically, the reasoning behind arranging life insurance is to ensure that you and your loved ones do not suffer financially if the worst were to happen. So, it makes sense that the pay-out from your loved ones reaches them as soon as possible, right? Well, that’s what a trust form helps you do!

Putting your life insurance policy into trust ensures that the money reaches your loved ones quickly. This is because you have set out exactly who you want the money to go to in a legally binding document and this helps you to avoid something called probate. In simple terms, probate is a legal process which can delay your loved ones in receiving the money from your life insurance policy - probate can be a lengthy process and could take up to 12 months or longer.

Another benefit of placing your policy into trust is that it can help mitigate inheritance tax, this is because your life insurance will then be separate to your estate which can help to ensure that your loved ones will receive the full pay-out of the policy.

How can the trust team help?

After you have initially arranged your life insurance policy with your protection specialist, you will be contacted several working days later by our trust team to confirm you are happy with the life insurance that has been set up for you and to discuss placing your policy into trust.

Our trust specialists will advise the best type of trust forms for you and once this has been decided, they will either post them out or send them to you digitally - whichever is preferred. Not only will our team talk you through your forms in real time over the phone, they will also take the time to go over anything you’re unsure of as many times as you need. We also provide pre-paid envelopes so if anything needs to be amended on your forms, it can go back and forth through the post at no extra cost to you. The team is on hand to help with any queries about the forms - big or small. Once your form is finalised and you are happy with everything, we will send you your own copy of the form and then send the original to your life insurance provider.

Once this process is complete, Caspian are always on hand to help in the future. Whether you have any queries about your policy or if you want to make any amends to your life insurance, we are here to help! At Caspian, our aim is to consistently elevate your customer experience with us. As we continue to grow as a company, our customers will always remain at the heart of what we do.
